Sooooo much love for this book. Similar to Small Gods and also most other Pratchett books, I have read it a whole bunch of times. In Guards! Guards! we get out introduction to Vimes and Carrot, two of my very favorite characters. Vimes is just SO AWESOME. As a person, and as an interesting character. There is hilarity and social commentary and heartbreaking moments and bits where I am laughing out loud. Also, Vetinari really starts to come into his own in this book. The Vetinari in the earlier books set in Ankh Morpork is an entirely different beast than what we get in the later books. Also, my copy of this is a cool, old, hardbacked version that I found at the used bookstore. I loves it.

Excellent prose that is beautifully constructed, though the message of a universal belief lands awkwardly at the end. Recommended for everyone.

I loved Wulfric Bedwyn!!! I thick Christine is really funny, her bloopers are hilarious, very original! I enjoyed the ending too...If I re-read this one day, I might change my rating to 5-stars.
