Nem sei bem como começar. Li-o até ao fim, mas tenho que confessar que estou algo indecisa. Se por um lado simpatizei com Ria e torci para que tivesse sucesso, por outro, achei que o livro se arrastou por muitas páginas, pois temos relato sobre a vida de Ria e família, como também sobre os seus amigos. Tal como já disse, simpatizei com Ria, mas tal não foi suficiente para que ficasse presa à história e achei que tinha "informação a mais" sobre outras personagens. Basicamente, vamos acompanhando o dia-a-dia das personagens ao longo dos anos, e até a dita troca de casa, só acontece depois de meio do livro. Acho que só acabei o livro porque passei vários dias em que simplesmente não tive vontade de ler.

This is the first I've read from this author. Really strong story teller. I'll be reading more.

I have never been into vintage clothing; like Phoebe's mother I don't want to wear clothing someone else has worn. But I remember playing dress-up in the wonderful old dresses my Mom had saved from her college party days. I love estate sales and auctions, as well as old things, so the book struck a chord with me. A Vintage Affair is a good, quick read which I recommended to a friend who just finished a degree in Women's Studies, specifically the history of women's clothing. The underlying relationship between Mrs. Bell and Phoebe is heart-warming and delightful but is really overshadowed by the triteness of her interactions with the other characters and her obsession with the designer's clothing. I think the author tried to equate Phoebe's depth of understanding about vintage clothes with her understanding of her relationships and this just isn't quite communicated. I'd read another of this author's books and enjoyed the light read.
