A great Ending with a twist i didnt expect

(re-read 10/09 - i still think this is the most graphically disturbing book she has written, and that says a lot. another reviewer mentioned that the main characters all seem so ready to hurt one another, and perhaps that's my issue with sara/lena - they both want to hurt each other so much, and i can't figure out why. that said, sara is more than willing to hurt jefferey too. however, i think in the face of such nastiness, you lash out at the ones you love, because you have to put your emotion somewhere. these are kind of fascinating to read from a psychological perspective, and i'm always impressed with how true they ring in that sense - the crimes, the reaction to the crimes, etc. this focused less on the main characters and more on the crime, which is rare in slaughter's book. i think that's why it stands apart in my mind. and also, really, who is tackling issues like this?) just when you think karin slaughter can't make a more disturbing book, she does. holy hell, this has everything. not for the faint of heart, but excellent twists and character stuff, and yeah. kind of genius, in the twisted way i love.
