I love that this WWII historical fiction takes a point of view I hadn't encountered before--that of a young German girl experiencing the war from the inside. Well, that and the actual narrator is Death, with his eye for color and unusual phrasing, which makes the novel shine.

Loved reading it. Would like to read more books by the same author
